This first-of-its-kind training programme spanned three days and concluded with 20 graduates receiving their completion certificates on 22 October at the Civil Defense Officers Club.

Through the programme, officers are reminded of the importance of their role as an Ambassador of Qatar, often providing the first or last impression to visitors. The trainees are equipped with the expertise to deliver exceptional service, fostering a seamless and enriching experience for all travellers. By emphasising effective communication, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity, the aim is to empower officers to navigate diverse situations with professionalism, empathy and care. The training programme is divided into five modules: Role of Immigration in Travel Experience, Mastering Effective Communication, Pursuit of Excellence, Emotional Intelligence and the final module is the Ambassadors of Qatar.

Commenting on the programme, Mr. Omar Al Jaber Acting Director of Tourism Development at Qatar Tourism, said: “The Ambassadors of Qatar Programme: Road to Excellence is an inspired joint effort between the Qatar Tourism Service Excellence Academy and the Ministry of Interior Training Institute aimed at providing the relevant training to our tourism frontliners, the first people visitors encounter when arriving to Qatar. At Qatar Tourism we are steadfast in providing service excellence at every touch point in the tourism sector, whether it’s through our events, our venues and now at our entry ports. We look forward to making this programme bigger with every batch and include more segments from the industry. I would like to thank the Ministry of Interior for their partnership, the trainers who helped make this programme come to fruition and lastly, I would like to congratulate all who have been certified.”
